Mary Burbey: Saxophone, Piano, Voice. Mary has 10+ years of music teaching experience (plus many more years of classroom experience and musical theatre performance prep!). She earned a BS in Music Education.
Sue Demel: Singer/Songwriter Coach
Sue has designed private lessons for singers and songwriters any level. With Sue you will fine-hone your own unique style, explore ways to write and/or sing with more fun, honesty and bravery. Sessions include song-work, exercises, simple performance, writing exercises, ear training, and dynamic principles. More info on Sue: Whether it’s scatting, chanting, collaborating, or writing, Sue explodes the pre-conceived notions of singing. As a founding and current member of folk trio Sons of the Never Wrong, Sue tours nationally, performing original, acoustic music. Her body of work as a songwriter achieves a rare peace between the boundaries of love and redemption. A seasoned back-up vocalist featured on over 70 albums, and a beloved singing/songwriting coach, Sue is currently a recording artist on Waterbug records where her original songs, arrangements, and vocals are featured.
Jacob Kuhlman: Guitar, Ukulele, Banjo and Mandolin
Jake has over 15 years of teaching experience. Jake is the banjo player in the Marquette-based internationally touring bluegrass band Chasin' Steel and a guitar player for Frank an' Da Beanz.
Wendy Larson: Violin, Viola and Cello
Wendy has over 20 years of teaching experience with extensive Suzuki training. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and is a violinist in the Marquette Symphony Orchestra.
Sahl Metivier: Guitar, Ukulele, Bass and Mandolin
Sahl is an experienced, talented musician and an excellent music instructor with over ten years of teaching experience.
Andra Sullivan: Piano and Flute
Andra has extensive experience in piano and flute instruction. She is a regular performing member in the Marquette Symphony Orchestra and Marquette City Band.
Dave Ziegner: Guitar, Electric & Upright Bass, Piano
Dave has over 25 years of music teaching experience and has a BA in Bass Performance from NMU. Dave is an accomplished bassist, guitarist, pianist, and composer and spent many years playing Brazilian/Latin jazz in the San Francisco Bay area. In 2005 he was awarded with the City of Marquette’s Community Performing Arts honor. Dave has performed with such greats as Peter Erskine, Mike Stern, Bob Mintzer and others in a variety of styles and can usually be found on the electric or upright bass.
